Daniel Rey: Aardvarks to Zeitgeists

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. I’m Daniel Rey, a freelance journalist, researcher and blogger.

In March I was awarded the runners-up prize in the FT-Bodley Head essay competition for writers under 35. The essay, entitled Checkmate or Top Trumps: Cuba’s Geopolitical Game of the Century is published by Vintage Digital and available to read on Amazon, Google Play and Barnes & Noble.

As the title of my blog suggests, I write about everything from aardvarks to Zeitgeists.

From September 2017, I am writing a weekly blog on my experiences as an Englishman who has moved to the San Francisco Bay Area.

I’ll also use this space to bring together articles on national and international news, arts, sport and much more.
